Residential Property, Germany
KHBT LLP Architects were tasked with redesigning this late seventies home in Germany into a contemporary residence whilst creating additional living space for its occupants.
An additional storey has been built on top of the north part of the house to increase the floor area. In combination with an extension at ground level the house now provides more space for the requirements of the family and their guests.
The former seventies character has been developed further with the result of an internal triple height staircase lit from the top by using a roof window and creating a view diagonally through the house by continuing the split level idea up to the additional second floor. The shape of the building is accordingly transformed into a contemporary form with a folded roof structure. Two of the motorised neo™ roof windows have been specified with motorised blinds to compliment the interior design scheme.
