For the refurbishment of this semi-detached property in the London Borough of Richmond, Simon Merrony Architects wanted to create a carefully considered roof featuring Photovoltaic Panels to provide renewable energy to the home alongside a rooflight to fill the attic space below with natural light and ventilation.
Aesthetics played a key part of the brief, so it was important for the architect to specify a roof window that was elegant and also mirrored the fine lines of the chosen photovoltaic panels. The Rooflight Company worked in consultation with the architect to provide a solution to meet their needs.
A neo™ measuring 1.7m wide x 1m high was specified to perfectly complement the design scheme. The roof window was also fitted with a concealed motor to allow electric actuation, and to ensure that the minimal, frameless appearance was mirrored from the outside in.
