* The outer laminate which supports the full load of someone walking on the rooflight is made up of three leaves of glass with two interlayers for the triple and two leaves of glass with one interlayer for the double.  Both are tested to the domestic floor loading as defined in BS EN 1991-1-1:2002 with a distributed load of 1.5kN/m² and a concentrated load of 2.0kN.

** This is the level at which a roof window will retain or lose heat. The lower the U-value, the better. Be sure to ask for whole unit U-values too, not centre pane only. The patented thermal shield design blocks heat passing through the aluminium frame, providing the best whole window U-value of 1.19 W/m2k (in the vertical plane).
