Founded 25 years ago, the Rooflight Company is a successful, employee-owned West Oxfordshire business with approximately 70 employees, designing and manufacturing rooflights and roof windows for the UK construction / specification market.

The Sales Manager will be proficient in sales conversion techniques and how to improve conversions, often in a consultative environment. You will need to be numerate, using data to identify trends and plan campaigns and processes accordingly. Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Director, the candidate must have the skills and confidence to work independently, whilst managing the in-house sales force of 3 x Head of Project Team Leaders and their teams.

  • Develop and execute clear sales activity plans and processes to achieve the sales strategy.
  • Train, coach and develop your team to ever greater heights of performance and satisfaction
  • Achieve team sales targets and KPIs in line with business requirements
  • Increase the sales conversion rates
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships for repeat business and referrals
  • Through your team, deliver a continually improving experience for our customers
  • Through your team, manage the sales pipeline and improve response times to customers
  • Prepare and deliver reports and forecasts
  • Develop detailed product knowledge and an in depth understanding of the UK rooflight market.

  • Excellent track record of people management
  • 3 years proven track record in Sales Management.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and data mining
  • A motivated self-starter with a strong focus on results
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Driven energetic, with a sense of urgency and a competitive nature
  • The ability to demonstrate successfully implementing the tasks set out in this job specification
  • Presentation Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint


  • Building product / Architect/ construction industry experience
