The role of the neo Advance – Production Team Member involves the physical production of products and active participation in a continuous improvement culture. It is your responsibility to make sure products are manufactured in accordance with standard operating procedures whilst delivering a smooth efficient service that meets business expectations and the needs of our customers.


  • To meet Rooflight Company manufacturing targets by ensuring that product is manufactured to the optimum quality, on time and to cost.
  • To participate in lean improvement programmes and activities.
  • To continually develop your skills to enable you to positively contribute to team deliverables.
  • To ensure all your activities are conducted within the framework of Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental and HR procedures.

Responsible for:

Physical manufacture of products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.  Contribution to operational excellence.  Participation and contribution to continuous improvement whilst developing own personal performance in a High-Performance Team Culture.  Identifying process improvements to Standard Operating Procedures.  Adherence to Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental systems.


In line with Quality, Cost and Delivery requirements, the authorities below cover the processes (see ‘Responsible for’) for which the function is authorised to make decisions:

  • To raise non-conformity, quality, process or health and safety issues to line management immediately.
  • To make recommendations for process changes in-line with lean improvement programmes and activities.


  • To manufacture product to schedule, to agreed operating standards, to agreed quality standards and to agreed process times.
  • Deliver manufactured products to targets and ensure customer service requirements are being satisfied.
  • To actively participate in the Manufacturing, Process Engineering and the Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental teams/systems to achieve optimum process flow and adherence to lead time.
  • Use of and daily maintenance of all machines, equipment and facilities ensuring product is manufactured to high standard and consistency.
  • Working overtime as and when required to achieve output.
  • To contribute and add value to daily production meetings.
  • To keep the Operations Manager consistently informed of non-conformity or deviations from agreed standards.
  • To work in collaboration with other Production Operatives.

Continuous Improvement

  • Undertake scheduled and on-the-job training to ensure that your responsibilities are defined and understood.
  • To be involved in and actively participate in lean improvement projects.
  • To help develop your fellow team members.
  • To help identify needs relating to improvements in safety/ergonomics and assist in developing and implementing solutions to these issues.
  • Input into key performance metrics.

High Performance Team

  • Be a key team member in a high performing manufacturing team.
  • Work effectively and positively with fellow team members.
  • Ensure that your capabilities, your skills and your motivation are to a consistently high standard and capable of achieving the levels of performance required in meeting business targets.
  • Ensure that you and your fellow team members comply with the current SOPs, Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Management Systems.

  • Basic IT Skills – in particular MS Office 2000 or similar (Word, Excel & Outlook).
  • Good general education with experience in manufacturing high performance / regulated products.
  • Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of CNC Machinery ideal
