Founded 25 years ago, the Rooflight Company is a successful, employee-owned West Oxfordshire business with approximately 70 employees, designing and manufacturing rooflights and roof windows for the UK construction/specification market.

We are looking for a highly creative, analytical and results-oriented Marketing Manager. Reporting into the Sales & Marketing Director, the candidate must have the skills and confidence to work independently, whilst managing the in-house team of Graphic Designer, Digital Content Producer, Marketing Assistant and Digital Analyst.

  • Drive data-driven and measurable marketing initiatives to support the acquisition and retention of key customer segments
  • Create and evolve the overall value proposition and customer experience to support the business growth plans
  • Demonstrable experience in managing full mix marketing campaigns and projects, from inception to delivery, including new product launches and event planning.
  • Experience in lead generation and audience creation campaigns.
  • Excellent knowledge of traditional marketing channels along with digital channels, paid social, PPC, website UX and email.
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop, manage and implement marketing plans to support business and revenue growth priorities.
  • Develop segmentation strategy and identify new or emerging patterns in customer behaviour to inform strategy and engage new segments
  • Identify new marketing opportunities based on understanding of business goals and competitive analysis/benchmarking
  • Own campaign performance metrics and set, monitor and report on team goals
  • Manage & control the annual marketing budget.
  • Experienced CRM user.


  • Oversee concept and creative development of campaign materials to create compelling and effective marketing assets ensuring brand consistency across channels
  • Oversee and approve all marketing material, creating, delivering and optimising all marketing materials
  • Oversee and contribute to the production of engaging content for all communication channels

Social Media

  • Work with marketing team to manage the company’s social media profiles, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and additional channels that may be deemed relevant, as well as work to build up presence in relevant third party partner portals such as Houzz, NBS Source, Specified By and others

Events Organisation

  • Event and exhibition planning and management
  • Investigate and recommend new event opportunities


  • Review and maintain data on competitor’s product ranges, prices, and marketing messages each quarter. Review and understand market size and market share.

Organising & Managing

  • Manage an in-house team of a Graphic Designer, Marketing Assistant and Digital Content Producer and Data Analyst
  • Brief and manage suppliers
  • Manage multiple agencies towards a common set of goals across PR, PPC, SEO, web development
  • Liaise with all relevant media to schedule campaigns
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proactively review and recommend suppliers


  • Be a confident presenter. Weekly and monthly presentations are required.


  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Marketing Manager
  • Analytical mind with an ability to make data-driven marketing decisions
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and data mining
  • The ability to demonstrate successfully implementing the tasks set out in this job specification
  • A CIM qualification / Degree in Marketing
  • GCSE / A Level English and GCSE Maths grades A-C minimum
  • Presentation Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and data mining
