A sympathetic conversion of a derelict railway goods shed in Ware into a contemporary new development, the Carriages comprises 24 luxury apartments from developer Sandhill Homes.

Providing natural light and ventilation for the Grade II listed building was a major planning issue, and a long time was spent determining the level of alteration needed. Rooflights admit more light than vertical windows size-for-size, but had to be in keeping with the building's essential character. A total of 30 bespoke rooflights were supplied.
