St John's College

Cavaleri Partnership Architects were tasked with designing the new Science, Music and Teaching blocks at St John's College School in Cambridge.

Completed in 2013, the new senior house site was completely redeveloped to be made suitable for approximately 230 pupils.

Three new classrooms each with triangular rooflights have been constructed in the new 'Piazza' area. The classrooms have been designed with careful consideration to let in as much natural light as possible.

"We specified the Rooflight Company due to their ability to produce a bespoke rooflight that would work with this scheme. We worked closely with the Rooflight Company's Design Team to ensure the triangles would fit with the new roof and we are very pleased with the final result."
Peter Wilson, Cavaleri Partnership

Bespoke Triangular Rooflights were specified for this project to be installed into a zinc roof. All three rooflights were painted in concrete grey to match the colour of the zinc.

The Rooflight Company's in-house design team worked with both the architect and the contractor throughout the project supplying drawings of the rooflights at client acceptance stage and then further installation drawings once the rooflights had been made.

Once delivered to site, the Rooflight Company provided technical support with the custom installation details both on-site and over the phone.
