Case Study

Standedge Visitor Centre, Huddersfield

Architects: A&DP

Architects, A&DP needed to introduce maximum light and ventilation for the conversion of this Victorian warehouse into a visitor centre for the canal tunnel at Marsden. They decided this was best achieved by inserting large skylights, in alternate structural bays, on both roof slopes. Project architect, Russell Earnshaw, commented: "To be visually acceptable the new rooflights needed to be unobtrusive, appropriate to the period and style of the original building and large enough to function satisfactorily". Nine CR-15 size Conservation Rooflights® - the largest standard size in the range- were installed.
