Macaulay Walk, London

Situated in Clapham Old Town, Macaulay Walk has been redesigned by award-winning Assael Architecture. The mixed-use residential and office scheme comprises 97 residential units and 30,000sq ft. of commercial space.

The Rooflight Company were specified by Assael to supply Conservation Rooflights® for use throughout the scheme most noticeably in the Porteus Place apartments.

Whilst it was important for the interior designers MMM to create a modern living area, Assael also recognised the need to find a roof window solution that would be able to blend in with the historic surroundings as well as fit with the contemporary interiors.

"The Rooflight Company were chosen to supply Conservation Rooflights® because of their ability to supply a roof window that is in keeping with the local area as well as meeting all the building regulations. We are very happy with the final result of the scheme, including the rooflights."
Alastair Ferguson, Associate Director, Assael Architecture

In total 25 Conservation Rooflights® in various sizes and 7 Studio Designer Rooflights in two sizes were specified along with a variety of opening options. Rain and weather sensors were also specified for this project.

In 2014 the Macaulay Walk development won eight awards including the Sunday Times - Development of the Year and the What House? Gold Winner for Best Apartment Scheme.
