neo™

 neo™

"Externally the planning department asked for a 'conservation style' rooflight that was flush with our slate roof. This was achieved in an elegant way without the bulky frames some rooflights have. We also upgraded the thermal performance of neo™ by using Super Insulated Glazing that gives a 0.6 U-Value."
Ian Hogarth, Hogarth architects

Why specify neo™?

Designed from the architect's point of view

Ian Hogarth explains why he specified neo™   Charlie Luxton explains why he specified neo™

Representing a new concept in design neo™ results from a collaboration between the Rooflight Company's design team and a focus group comprising of architects and designers. The result is a rooflight where form and function are equally balanced.

"I am impressed with the clean lines and modern design of neo™. It merges well with the standing seam roof at Quarrendon Street and compliments the minimal design perfectly."
Jenny Harborne, Architect, Quarrendon Street

 Sustainability

All neo™ rooflights are fully Part L compliant and exceed the weather tightness requirements of BS 6375.

"We specified neo™ due to its high quality, durable design. The rooflights complement the contemporary design and contribute to the architectural merit of the building."
Guy Holloway, Architect, Country Cottages

Frameless Appearance

Due to its edge-to-edge glazing and ultra-low profile, the neo™ does not dominate the roof; the overall appearance is one of a single sheet of glass. These aesthetic advantages are cleverly combined with modern functionality such as concealed electric openings and a wide range of blinds including the Dual Pleat blind which offers a complete darkening of the room.

"neo™ appealed to me as it is completely flush and frameless."
David Price, Architect, Broadclyst School

Clear, uncluttered Views

Unlike most modern rooflights, when closed, neo™ has totally clear views uncluttered by opening mechanisms. All neo™ models are top-hinged with concealed motors or with a discreet handle at the cill should a manual option be desired. Oak or moisture resistant linings (for painting on-site) create a warm to the touch internal surface.

"I especially liked the effect the linked neo™ has on the amount of natural light that fills the property, neo™ is a fantastic rooflight."
Steven Myhill, Architect, Summer House

Choice and Sizing

This range is available in two materials – steel or Fortecom®.

The steel option is available in Portrait, Landscape or Square format in 15 sizes and an optional glazing bar where a conservation appearance is more appropriate. For a limitless run of rooflights a choice of linking systems are available.

Fortecom™  is also available in Portrait, Landscape and a Square format in 10 sizes. The 2 largest sizes are only available in a fixed shut option.

"There is no other rooflight that could have combined such clean modern lines on a traditional slate roof with oak inner linings matched up to the oak rafter. The simplicity of the remote control opening mechanism's that are concealed within the frame produce an uncluttered and simple window."
Salisbury Barn

Neat and Easy Installation

The new flashing kit ensures neat and easy on-site fitment which blends seamlessly into most roof tile types.

Why specify neo™?

Steel

The frame construction consists of 3mm steel with a protective Polyester powder coating and has a guarantee of up to 12 years on the frame and 5 years on the glass*. An integral Thermoliner® PVC-U decoupled lining helps to offer condensation control.

*Dependent on location and mandatory maintenance regime undertaken.

The steel option has two opening positions:
1. for ventilation.
2. fully open.

Glazing

We are currently changing our standard IGU specification to 4mm SGG PLANITHERM® TOTAL+ toughened inner with a 16mm argon cavity and a 4mm SGG PLANILUX® toughened outer, giving a glass centre pane U-value of 1.2W/m²K.
Other glazing specifications offering for example, improved thermal, acoustic or security properties as well as decorative finishes are also available.

Colour

The standard colour for the steel version is Umbra Grey (RAL 7022).
Any RAL or BS colour can be specified to match the roof covering.

"I am delighted with the result. The clean lines of the neo™ enable it to lie completely flush with the slate roof and their oak linings compliment the specially designed oak doors and windows."
Judith Perry, Architect, Cambridge Residence

Fortecom®

The frame construction consists of a pultruded fibre-reinforced composite which is slim, strong and designed to withstand the most hostile of environments. Considered to be in the "high tech" league of modern materials, it has a proven track record in demanding environments such as those found in the oil exploration and aerospace industries. With its inherent high mechanical strength and anti-corrosive properties it offers many benefits over traditional materials and comes with a 12 year guarantee*. Fortecom outperforms the BRE weather and air tightness requirements of BS 6375: Part 1:2009 and pultruded composites receive an "A" rating in the BRE "Green Guide to Composites".

*Dependent on location and mandatory maintenance regime undertaken.

Fortecom® has one opening position.
