Case Studies by Planning Issues
Wardour Castle, Wiltshire
Wardour Castle in Wiltshire is a magnificent Grade 1 Listed Building designed by Thomas Paine recently converted into apartments. The owner wished to maximize the ingress of natural daylight into the attic space for conversion into living accommodation. English Heritage was consulted and was insistent on maintaining the classical style of the roof, which boasts an impressive 250 year old dome. The result was their specification of the Studio- Designer rooflight measuring 3m x 1.5m, made up of three CR-15 casements on one base-plate along with ten standard Conservation Rooflights. The outcome is a wonderfully lit space while enhancing the external appearance of the property.
