When architect Jill Dudley of Fairhurst Design was briefed to carry out extensive refurbishment work to the Robinsons Brewery brew house and visitors centre in Stockport, she wanted to specify a large rooflight to suit a barrel vault roof and blend in with an industrial style building.

The aesthetics of the rooflight were very important and a combination of openable and fixed shut casements were required, so Jill approached the Rooflight Company to design a bespoke Lantern Rooflight measuring 18,966mm in length and 1870mm in width.

The rooflight was specified in Basalt Grey to blend in with the surrounding buildings. It featured six fixed-shut casements and twenty motorised casements to allow natural ventilation in to the exhibition space below.
