An interactive model that really works

I confess that when I went to see the preview of New London Architecture's new model of the city, I expected to like it but not be overwhelemed. It was good that it was bigger than its predecessor, encompassing in particular more of west London.
And it was interactive. Well, so what? Everything is these days isn't it? But this is really good. The projection of lights is informative rather than just pretty. We were shown a film, the first of several, that can run behind the model.
This was on tall buildings, and as specific projects were mentioned they lit up on the model, as did for instance the protected viewing corridors. The only problem was that at times I wasn't sure where to look - at the film or the model. But a film that you need to see twice is definitely better than one which you don't want to watch at all.
